Welcome to Mosman Bowling Club, one of the oldest and most beautiful bowling clubs in Sydney.
I have been a member here for nearly thirty years, and it holds a special place in my heart.
We have two beautiful grass greens, lovingly cared for by our greenkeepers Scott and Snowy for over forty years, and a gorgeous heritage clubhouse admired by all who visit – and no pokies!
Most importantly we have over two hundred wonderful members, most of whom willingly volunteer at the club in some capacity.
We have been a very inclusive club for over twenty years, with men and women playing together for all our social games, many of our competitions, and more recently in pennant. This inclusive policy has fostered a very warm and safe environment for couples and singles alike.
Our social bowls days are extremely popular, with an average of around 60 players in attendance – our famous afternoon tea with scones and jam and cream is possibly an added incentive!! Wednesday and Saturday afternoons are our main social playing days, with a shorter format starting late Tuesday morning, and Friday twilight bowls played over the summer months.
For those who are more competitive, we field several Grades of Open Gender Pennant, where men and women play together, and also several grades of single-gender Women’s and Men’s Pennant, and there are also many other opportunities to play at other clubs, and in Regional and State events.
Our social agenda is busy with many club functions and carnivals throughout the year, and Club getaways are organized annually, with early booking essential due to their popularity. Over the years the club has travelled to many destinations, not only within NSW, but also throughout Australia and overseas, with up to 60 members at a time joining in for a wonderful group adventure to see the sights and play bowls at local clubs.
