President News

We have a 2023 Men’s (open) singles champion and a new name on the honour board. Congratulations to Linden de Jong for his win over Brin Kerwood and also to Brin for making it through to the final.

Congratulations to Julie Hayden and Robyn Novakovic for the convincing win in the Women Pairs final over Trish Tamaoki and Dot Slattery. And well done especially to Dot for making the final so early in her bowling career.

Our 2023 Annual General Meeting held on Sunday September 10th was well attended. It was a great pleasure to approve the nomination of John Candy as an honorary life member of the club. John has given the club excellent service in his 16 years of membership and life membership was well deserved. Barry Slattery was welcomed onto the board as a director and outgoing director Barbara Anderson was thanked for her service.

Warringah have retained the Harness Trophy with a strong 20/9 win in the final over Newport. Congratulations to both teams. It was great to have this popular competition up and running again.

It has been decided by general agreement that Tuesday bowls will commence at 11am in future. This is to take advantage of easier parking availability during school hours. Because Scott and Snowy are not able to have a second green available before 12:30 please avoid roll-ups until the afternoon as the single green is fully utilised until then with matches and coaching.

The 2023/24 programme is now on this website. Go to “Programme” to find it. The booklet is now available at the club.
