Alex Macpherson

Picture postcard weather and immaculate greens greeted 84 bowlers participating in our annual Alex Macpherson Carnival. The event attracted a capacity 28 teams representing 16 individual Clubs, mostly from within our Region. Special mention goes to two teams travelling from further afield, Clovelly and Merrylands. From all feedback received, the day was very enjoyable and hailed as a great success. The majority of games were very tightly contested, with only a handful of shots deciding the results on many rinks.

An outstanding achievement from Club Belrose who took out both the Overall Winner and Runner Up awards. A very creditable result for Seaforth who were just pipped for Third Over All by one point! Our two Mosman teams performed creditably, enjoying the strong competition.

Mosman Bowling Club is blessed with many volunteers who willingly and wholeheartedly give their time to ensure the Club runs effectively and smoothly. The Carnival was no exception, with a great cast of volunteers who stepped forward to make the day a great success! Huge thanks to everyone who helped on the day, your efforts are very much appreciated! 

Special mention goes to 

• Scott Denham for managing the match draw, the scoresheet/board and the results,
• Chef Craig who prepared a fantastic spread across the day, including a delicious lunch,
• Gwen Gleichman and the social committee team for their organisation and leadership on the day, 
• Peter Garland for his sterling work behind the Bar.
• Edwina Legg, who it seems may have earned herself a lifelong role – raffle sales exceeded $500!
• And of course we owe many thanks to the Convenor of the Carnival, Paul Ward-Harvey who organised the whole event, but unfortunately couldn’t be with us on the day, due to a family commitment.
